Urban Forestry Careers Camp

Urban Forestry Careers Camp

Explore your future career in the exciting and growing field of Urban Forestry.  Come spend a week on Maryland's flagship campus in College Park and experience hands-on learning with industry professionals and experts in  many forestry-related fields.

Be one of 40 high school students selected to spend a week at the University of Maryland with other like-minded students from across the state.

In 2024, the one-week camp was held from July 7 - July 13, 2024.

Thank you to all who participated in UFCC 2024 - it was a great success!!

Planning for the 2025 camp is underway.  The dates and a daily schedule of activities will be made available in early 2025.  Please see the application instructions below and, since space is limited to 40 students, you should send in an application to get your name on the list for consideration as soon as the application process opens.

In order to qualify for acceptance at UFCC 2025, students must be currently enrolled in high school at the Sophomore level or higher by September 2025.  Newly graduated seniors are eligible as well.

The tuition is paid for by the Maryland Forestry Foundation, made possible by a grant from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

There is currently consideration being given to host a two-week camp, instead of one-week, so that college credit may be offered.   Once the dates are set for the 2025 camp, we will open the application process for UFCC - so Stay Tuned!
